MINOR UPDATES ON NISSAN MICRA IN INDIA
Nissan Motor India launched an updated version of its compact hatchback Micra with price starting at Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The petrol variants are priced between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 6.95 lakh, while the diesel trims are tagged between Rs 6.62 lakh and Rs 7.23 lakh.
The Nissan Micra, known in India for its European styling and driving comfort, now comes loaded with class-leading features such as auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers and ‘lead me to car’. These newly added features in the New Micra augment the intelligent and premium attractiveness of the car, which offers outstanding driving comfort and confidence to Micra customers.
Mechanically, the Micra is unchanged and engine options include a 1.2-litre petrol motor and a 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine. There is still no petrol manual or a diesel automatic variant on offer; this means the petrol engine can be had only with a CVT gearbox, while the diesel comes with a five-speed manual transmission.
The stripped-down Micra Active, however, can be had with a petrol manual configuration. Fuel economy figures for the Micra diesel variant are rated at 23.08kpl, while the X-Tronic CVT Automatic variant returns 19.34kpl under ARAI test conditions. The Micra sold in India is still the previous generation, and Nissan has no plans to bring the all-new, fifth-gen Micra that’s on sale in international markets. Direct rivals to the Micra include the Hyundai Grand i10 and the Maruti Swift.
